State-owned multinational oil and gas company Petronas, responsible for the entire oil and gas resources of Malaysia which operates in over a 100 countries, is the largest corporate entity in Malaysia. The government under the 12th Malaysia Plan, a medium-term spending plan covering 2021-25, is expected to have a stronger focus on reducing the government’s reliance on the oil and gas sector and promoting domestic tourism.
